Aurora has more than 215 acres of parks, which is the largest ratio of park land per capita in the state of Missouri! The six parks offer a wide range of recreational opportunities for people of all ages including:

- Volleyball
- Skateboarding
- Playground Equipment
- Swimming
- Walking
Oak Park, located on Business 60 is also the location for Ye Olde Mining Days (May), the weekly Farmer's Market (summer), Lion Fest (September), Chamber of Commerce Car Show (October), and many other family picnics and gatherings.
In addition to outdoor activities, the Aurora Parks & Recreation Department sponsors various activities for youth and adults including:
- Dawg Days of Summer Day Camp
- Winter Basketball League, grades K-6
- Adult Winter Basketball League
- Summer Softball League
- Summer Volleyball League
