Job Announcement: Administrative Assistant - Finance

The City of Aurora is accepting applications for the position of Administrative Assistant in the City Finance Department.

This full time, non-exempt position is responsible for assisting the City Collector with the utility billings and all receipts processing; the City Treasurer with Accounts Payables and payroll; and the City Manager with general staff, clerical and confidential work. This position also serves the role of Receptionist, greeting the public, answering the main switchboard, and waiting on citizens at the Cashier counter.

The Administrative Assistant is responsible to and performs under the direct supervision of the City Treasurer.

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures
• Knowledge and experience with accounting procedures
• Ability to receive cash and make change with accuracy and speed
• Ability to accurately record all cash transactions
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with other employees, city officials, and the general public, through written and oral communications
• Ability to maintain a satisfactory working relationship within a small office with much public contact and frequent interruptions

SALARY: Starting salary $14.48 to $15.92 Depending on Qualifications and a generous benefits package for all Full Time Employees.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
