Wastewater Department

Overview

The wastewater department consists of four employees and they are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City's treatment facilities, collection system including:

  • Lift stations
  • RV dump site
  • Yard waste area

Treatment Facility

The treatment facility (it has a design capacity of 2.0 MGD with a hydraulic capacity of 7.0 MGD) is an activated sludge process consisting of:

  • 2 sand-filters
  • 4 clarifiers
  • 6 influent pumps
  • Fine step bar screen
  • Ram press
  • UV-disinfectant

Collection System

The collection system consists of:

  • 48.6 miles of gravity sewer lines ranging from six inch diameter to twenty two inches
  • 7 lift stations
  • 939 manholes
  • Approximately 2.5 miles of force main lines

Yard Waste

The brush drop-off site at the Wastewater Plant is permanently closed and will no longer be accepting brush, limbs or yard waste.

New Brush/Yard Waste Site Drop Off Site – Located at 20775 Lawrence 2210.  Take E Church Street/Business 60 to Lawrence 2210, continue East on 2210 until you see a sign on the right-hand side. 

•Tree limbs, leaves, grass, yard and garden plants will be accepted at the waste drop off site.  
•The area will be open to the public the 1st Monday of the month from 7:00am – 3:00pm.
•Please, no trash of any kind, no cardboard, boards, metal, or tires.
